The maximum retroactivity of the leg determines the extent of the centralized load to be passed to the ground and is the core input for the area and thickness selection. The whole tonnage represents only the type or total weight of the equipment and does not reflect the transfer of the load caused by the direction of the crane arm, the operational radius, the weight of the load, the crane and the leg outstretched. By dividing the overall weight of the machine by the average number of legs, the actual reaction of a leg may be seriously underestimated.
Reliable data should be derived from equipment manufacturers ' manuals, load maps, vehicle-mounted foot-power systems, engineering calculations or approved suspension programmes. The purchaser shall indicate the equipment configuration and performance of the data, such as full or partial stretching, maximum weight, arm length, range and range of rotation. It is also difficult for the supplier to judge whether it covers the most disadvantaged aspects of the project if only one number is provided and there is no job.

Pumpers, lifts and other leg-bearing machines also require a single-leg reaction. Some of the equipment is more evenly loaded while still, with a clear bias towards one side when the working arm is spread. If the project were to plan for the sharing of more than one unit of equipment, the maximum value of each unit, the size of the disc and the operational floor should be placed in the same list to identify the control area and the work to control the thickness.
When the supplier obtains maximum reaction, it is also necessary to know that the ground foundation allows for carrying, the outer-form limits of the padboard and the size of the pedal to make a full recommendation. It is also not reliable to simply recommend areas by retroactivity without asking the ground. The request for quotations should preferably be based on clear data, material, size, thickness, weight and use prerequisites to facilitate review by project technicians.
If maximum reversibility of the leg is not possible for the time being, it should be obtained first from the contractor or manufacturer of the equipment, rather than replacing it with experienced tonnage. The procurement may be preceded by a comparison of the material and the submission period, but the specification should not be finalized. Retrogressive data as part of the request for quotations can be reduced to back-to-back work where the back pads are too small, overweight or unmanageable.
