Whether UHMWPE or HDPE is selected for the skating board, it is to be judged by a combination of transport material, shock, wear, temperature and discharge target. The UHMWPE usually has lower friction and better grinding, shock-resistant performance, suitable for the need to improve the discharge and to protect steel carriages, such as clay, ore, sandstone, etc. HDPE is also corrosive and better processable and can be assessed in applications with light loads, low wear and tear, or limited budget.
The procuring party shall indicate the name of the material, the size of the particles, the sharpness, the water content rate, the method of filling, the weight of the single load and the number of discharges per day. Large ores fall into cars from high places, with a strong impact; fine, wet clay is primarily a test of low friction and attachment; sandy material is subject to continuous grinding. It is not sufficient to say that the transport of “sandstone” or “tubes” is sufficient to determine the grade and thickness of the material.

Temperature is another boundary. Thermal, cryogenic and day and night temperature differentials affect plastic plate size changes, impact performance and fixation. The maximum continuous temperature of the material, the short-term peak temperature and the lowest ambient temperature should be given prior to the procurement and the supplier should confirm the application of the material used. PE plates of different molecules, formulations or processes cannot be considered to have identical properties.
When comparing suppliers, material data, density or molecular content descriptions, grinding tests, friction performance, colour and batch traceability may be required. The tablets are also to be checked for flatness, thickness, welding or fusion programmes, and for the installation of holes. The total cost of lower-priced materials may be higher if they are worn out quickly, unloaded with limited improvement or are frequently replaced by stoppages.
Inquiries are made for car drawings, internal dimensions, materials and temperature, handling methods, current sticky and worn photographs, planned lifetime and installation conditions. The supplier can only recommend UHMWPE or HDPE, thickness, fraction, fixation and expansion. The final choice should be based on real transport performance and trial feedback, rather than only comparing material names.
