The handles and ropes of the leg mattresses are not accessories, and they directly affect the willingness of the site to use the mats as required. Overweight, lack of suitable grips or inappropriate lengths of ropes can easily lead to persons dragging plates, handing hands or moving in unsafe ways. The single-size weight, the number of people on the ground, the availability of forklifts and the perimeter of the legs should be determined before choosing the moving structure.
Small pads can be used to open the handles, but the holes should be far from the main stress zone, and the edges should be smooth and the gloves should be able to hold them. Large circles or square mats can be equipped with grinding ropes or a special lifting hand to remove the lower leg and move at short distances. Rope materials need to be adapted to mud, oil, low temperature and UV, and should be fixed in a manner that is easy to check and does not block the footpad.

Manual capacity should be assessed conservatively. Even if two people were able to lift a mattress, a narrow site, a wet-sliding ground and frequent swings would increase the risk. Leasing companies or large-scale projects may use gaskets, forklift holes or cranes, provided that it is established that these devices do not damage the plates. The supplier should include in the quotations the net individual weight, the gross weight of the packaging and the recommended mode of removal.
Peaks and ropes also affect the useful life. The handhole is over the edge and can be stretched over and over and over and over again, and if the ropes are worn and not replaced, the removal may suddenly break. Procurement contracts may require edge processing, hole size, rope specifications and quantities of spare parts, and establish standards for check-in and pre-use inspection.
The request for quotations indicates the operating temperature, ground contamination, removal distance, staffing, forklift conditions and the number of times used per year. Vendors are required to provide photographs or samples of different handle options and to check their relationship to the pressure area. A suitable handling structure would increase the actual usage of the pads and reduce the damage caused by drag, fall and misplacement.
