The safe passage of a heavy vehicle does not mean that the same section can endure thousands of cycles throughout the duration of the work. Repeated loads can reorder the particles under the plate, transport the fine matter, pull the connectors and cumulative grinding of the plate; rainwater, freezing, in turn, can make the foundations soft. The thickness selection must therefore take into account the daily number of cars, total circulation, vehicle movements and planned life, and cannot be viewed only once at maximum static.
The ground-based decision board is supported. Crushed stones can limit scratching and local holes, wet clay or backfilling soft points can cause the plate to overload. The same plate may perform completely differently on both ground. The project should record the worst ground, drainage, grass-roots thickness, mollusc depth and seasonal changes; where necessary, the foundation should be improved before the increase in thickness is discussed.

Traffic conditions also require zoning. The effect of low-speed and straight lines is different from that of frequent turns, brakes, ramps and long-term parking. Curves, car areas and loading points may be fitted with larger floors, larger surfaces or higher-specified plates, with no need for all line segments to be configured to the same maximum. Partition design allows for material to be used in a truly high-cycle position.
When comparing 15, 20, 25 or 30 mm specifications, in addition to the initial price, the individual weight, manual handling, number of cabinets, expected turnover, maintenance and shutdown risks are considered. The thicker, which usually increases the stylity and resistance to local deformities, does not increase the economy. Representative trial lays and regular depositions, place transfer records can validate the selection and be adjusted in a timely manner when the condition changes.
The full request shall be submitted to the vehicle axle load, tyre or track, daily and total vehicle length, speed and turn, road partition, ground and weather, life cycle and recovery plan. On this basis, the supplier proposes a programme of thickness, texture and connectivity, and the project party confirms the rules of the ground and operation. An assessment of the traffic cycle and ground-based as two independent variables allows for a balance between safety residuals and costs.
